What is NextGen Sellers?

NextGen Sellers is a structured six-month placement at a real Malaysian company. You join a working sales team from day one, take on genuine responsibilities, and earn a monthly salary while you build the skills employers are looking for.

Alongside your placement, you receive practical training in sales, English, financial literacy, and digital and AI literacy. The aim is simple: to leave you job-ready, confident, and able to grow a long-term career.

The programme is run by Biji-biji Initiative, a registered social enterprise established in 2013 with a track record of equipping young Malaysians for the future of work.

What you will receive

• RM1,800 every month — A monthly salary paid throughout your six-month placement, so you can earn while you learn.
• A free laptop to keep — Receive your own laptop for the programme. It is yours to keep when you graduate.
• PERKESO protection — Full employee social-security coverage under PERKESO for the duration of your placement.
• Future-ready training — Hands-on training in sales, English, financial literacy, and digital and AI skills.

NextGen Sellers is built for young Malaysians ready to start a career. You may be eligible if you are a:

• Malaysian citizen aged 18 to 24
• From a B40 household
• Any education background, with or without SPM or SKM
• Not currently enrolled in full-time higher education

How it works

Five clear steps from application to a career:

1. Register — Submit your details online in a few minutes.
2. Get screened — We review your application and invite you to a short conversation.
3. Attend bootcamp — Join an intensive in-person bootcamp to build your foundations.
4. Start your placement — Begin your paid six-month placement at a real company.
5. Graduate and get hired — Finish job-ready, with a track record and a path to employment.

Frequently asked questions

Is this programme free to join?

Yes, completely. There are no registration fees, no training fees, and no hidden charges. You will also receive a free laptop as part of the programme after you graduated from the programme.

Do I get paid during the placement?

Yes. You will receive RM1,800 per month throughout your six-month placement. This is a real salary, paid by Biji-biji Initiative, and you are covered under PERKESO as a registered employee. Depending on your host company, you may also be eligible for a commission-based scheme on top of your monthly allowance.

Is this programme legitimate?

NextGen Sellers is funded by the Citi Foundation and operated by Biji-biji Initiative, a registered Malaysian social enterprise founded in 2013. The programme is also supported by PERKESO and MYFutureJobs, both government-recognised bodies.

What happens after the six months?

Your placement is designed to be a genuine stepping stone into full-time employment. If you perform well, there is a strong chance your host employer will offer you a permanent role at the end of your placement.

Can I apply if I am still waiting for my SPM results?

Yes, you may submit your application. We will keep your profile on file and follow up with you once your results are released, then consider you for the next available cohort.

Where are the placements located?

Placements are available across Malaysia. We prioritise placing you within your home state and will do our best to find a host company that is accessible by MRT or LRT.
